Rates are effective April 15, 2024
South Coast Gas rates consist of three components. The Louisiana Public Service Commission regulates all three components.
- The first is the customer charge. The current customer charge for residential customers is $11.48 per month. The current customer charge for small commercial customers is $7.99 per month.
- The second component of the rate is the allowed rate on the volume of gas used. The current rate allowed for residential customers is $.32088 per 10 cubic feet (the volume registered on South Coast meters). The current rate allowed for small commercial customers is $.38133 per 10 cubic feet.
- The third component is the purchased gas adjustment (PGA). The PGA is the average cost of the gas on a monthly basis. The items that go into this cost is strictly monitored by the LPSC. The current month’s PGA is $.64532.
To calculate this month’s residential bill:
Multiply your consumption by (.32088 + .64532), then add $11.48.
A consumption of 15 would equal a bill of $25.97.
15 x (.32088 + .64532) + $11.48 = $25.97.
