Rates are effective March 1, 2019
Pierre Part Natural Gas rates consist of three components. The Louisiana Public Service Commission regulates all three components.
- The first is the customer charge. The current customer charge for residential customers is $14.12 per month. The current customer charge for small commercial customers is $10.62 per month. For February use bills only, the customer charge includes $1.28 for Pipeline Safety Inspection Fees.
- The second component of the rate is the allowed rate on the volume of gas used. The current rate allowed for residential customers is $.14380 per 10 cubic feet (the volume registered on Pierre Part meters). The current rate allowed for small commercial customers is $.28542 per 10 cubic feet.
- The final component is the purchased gas adjustment (PGA). The PGA is the average cost of the gas on a monthly basis. The items that go into this cost is strictly monitored by the LPSC. The current month’s PGA is $.50087.
To calculate this month’s residential bill, multiply your consumption by (.14380 + .50087), then add $14.12.
A consumption of 61 would equal a bill of $53.44.
61 x (.14380 + .50087) + $14.12 = $53.44
